Major changes to the home selling process became law in England and Wales in June 2007. Thereafter, anyone planning to sell their home needs to prepare a Home Information Pack (HIP).

Central to this change is the requirement for each HIP to contain a 'home condition report' detailing, amongst other things, the state of the services within the premises. This could include a report on the properties electrical installations.
